Seribu Islands residents protested about the recruitment of 33 Infrastructures and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers from outside of the area. They are placed in some islands such as Onrust, Kelor, Cipir and Kayangan Islands.

It's not the authority of regency or the sub-department

Head of Seribu Islands Tourism and Culture Sub-Department, Irfal Guci stated that those officers were recruited directly on the authority of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department.

"It's not the authority of regency or the sub-department," he stated, Tuesday (10/27).

He suggested that the urban village, sub-district or regency sides to send a letter to department with a copy addressed directly to General Inspectorate and Jakarta Governor, if they object about the recruitment.

"The officers are currently serving under Management Unit under the department so that we don't want to intervene the authority," he asserted.
